I have two little girls. One recently turned 4 and the other is 9 months old. My older daughter likes to count while I braid her hair, so we alternate.
She says 1, I say 2, she says 3, I say 4 and so on. It’s fun because I don’t have to worry about her wiggling around when I am working on tidying her hair for school in the morning.
I also really enjoy the tea “parties” my 4 year old gives, she surrounds herself with Barbie dolls and I have to participate too, watching her try to fake a British at these “parties” accent is hilariously funny. I get to have a glass of real tea made by a local Connecticut company with local honey while she still prefers to sip from an empty cup.
The building block games are really fun too, only we both have to stack the blocks as high as we can and then huff, puff and blow it all down all while trying to prevent the little one from getting in the way, the blocks are made of foamy material by the way.
The clean up game is my favorite since it saves me from the stress of doing it on my own; singing “time for clean up time for clean up done with play everybody’s helping everybody’s helping toys away toys away” while my 9 month old just likes to crawl into every corner she can find.
Trying to get into the bathroom and the kitchen are her favorite things to do but of course, mostly making faces and funny sounds and tickling her is how we have fun. She also likes it when I put a little napkin on her head such that it is partially covering her face, it fun to see how she laughs and giggles.
This is our game of ‘peek a boo’. It’s a lot of fun for me to watch them play together though, her older sister just seems to know what to do all the time!
